I think Price has seized on the fact that some of us want to see what Lutz brings (hope for the future?), as opposed to focusing on the obvious sinking ship.
And he'll have none of it.
Absolutely no reason he couldn't have started Bernie in LF and Skip at 2B (both with excellent numbers against Bronson), with Lutz at 1B.

Everything is perfect, but there is a lot of room for improvement. --- Shunryu Suzuki-roshi
So Bernadina is 7 for 10 against Arroyo.
You might have Kiko's post repeated throughout the thread so people would know why he's playing.
Maybe we can set up a repeating post, show it twice a page.
As for Lutz, this is one game I'm fine that he's on the bench. Arroyo has big trouble with lefties, but he's real crafty and likely to give Lutz trouble with the off-speed stuff. Lutz perhaps could have played yesterday, against a more traditional RHP, instead of Ludwick.

Only reason might be that the Reds' only big hit within memory is Phillips' homer against LA. So Price isn't sitting Phillips.
Would seem that Bernadina maybe should be playing LF and Schumaker first base. Seems more logical, but Price probably knows something that caused this alignment, maybe Bernadina played some first earlier in his career.
Not sure why everyone is so excited about this Lutz thing. My guess is he'll play tomorrow when a more regular type righty is pitching, not Arroyo.
Memories.... of another bad lineup

Bernadina has never played in the IF before tonight as a professional.
Yeah, but when Price plays his so-called best lineup, they don't do well either. Like last night. Just look at the OPS of each individual player. His only good lineup right now maybe is -- Frazier, Mesoraco, Frazier, Mesoraco, Frazier, Mesoraco, Frazier, Mesoraco, Pitcher.
And if the DH was allowed the last batter would be Frazier.
Price is in a tough spot, not giving him any awards, but the hitting is weak and injured.

This is what Price meant when he said he will give more guys an opportunity? Like the man, not sure about the manager.
I hope for another solid game for Mike, but not another fine outing wasted.

The older I get - the better I was
and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)
I miss Raisor
It's certainly a lineup.

It is really sad when your pitcher is the 3rd or 4th best hitter in your lineup. With Bruce scuffling so bad, Mes, Frazier and Phillips are the only guys I feel better about coming up than Leake.
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...
