I think it's fair to rest Mesoraco one time in a four game series.

Tomorrow Reds face a lefty so it's wise to play Mes tomorrow.

If Votto were playing I'd agree.

They showed a snippet of an interview with him during pregame. He was saying how he rounded up the team and for lack of a better term (I'm paraphrasing) got in their faces and told them to get their butts in gear.

So you'd play Mesoraco every day behind the plate? No rest days? Most catchers get rest a couple times a week.

I will respectfully disagree when he is our best offensive player on a team that is struggling mightily at the plate.

1st base....if Price thinks Bernadina can play it then Mes can.

But can you expect Mes to catch every single game?

I could understand it if Votto was due back in a day or two. But I don't see how you can expect Devin to catch every single day.

That guy in the Lutz shirt has to be one of us.

I agree that he shouldn't be expected to catch everyday. But he can play 1st base as Pena and Bernadina have. That being said I hope I am dead wrong and Lutz hits 2 home runs to shut me up.

I have no problem with that suggestion.

They asked Price about Devin at first base on the interview show today, and he said it was definitely something to consider for the future.

Apparently Price "can't picture Mez at any other position".

Glad to see he's thinking outside the box.

The strike zone not withstanding, every night is a tough night to score runs for the Reds, Chris.

And don't get me wrong...I realize that Mes hasn't had a full day off since he came back from the DL but it's not like this team is comfortably in playoff contention. This team is 1 bad week away from missing the playoffs entirely before the AS break. To sit your best offensive player on an anemic offense who is coming off a 2 HR game is mind boggling to me in this situation...

I'm confident the Mesaraco position issue will resolve itself just fine organically.

No need to start sticking him in foreign spots based on a hot few months. Had this idea bloomed in spring training that's one thing...but I understand not messing with him now.
