Is that Dickie Thon's kid playing for Lansing?
Sabermetrics is this: A batter's goal is to extend the inning. Extend enough innings and you're going to score runs. Extend more innings than your opponent and you're going to score more runs than him.

Forget the rain. It's never an official game until the Reds piss away a run between third base and home plate. - Bluegrass Redleg

    Re: Monday 6-2-14 Minor-League Updates

I see some new faces are up in Dayton. Daniel Pigott is playing in just his third game. And Gabriel Rosa made his Dayton 2014 debut. He started the game in center field, but came out after just three at-bats. He singled in two official trips to the plate, drew a base on balls and stole a base.

Carlton Daal was finally moved up in the order. He has been hitting .300+ for most of the season. He stole home in the third.

A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.

Felix Perez just upped the Louisville lead to 4-1 with his 7th home run of the season. He has also walked and been hit by a pitch tonight.

Lively, whom I would imagine is done for the matinee affair, struck out 7 and walked none.

I am really enjoying your detailed updates. Thanks

Or so it would seem. I simply relayed what I believed that I heard the radio announcer say.
