Wednesday, June 4, 2014...Minor League Updates:

Mat Latos is making yet another rehab start with Louisville.

He is still on the mound. His line so far reads: 5.0IP 6H 2R 2ER 1BB 3K. He has thrown 66 pitches.

Louisville leads by a score of 3-2.

Jason Bourgeois continues his good play down in Louisville, is said to be a favorite of the people. He has singled, doubled and scored a run.
Ruben Gotay has factored in all three runs, doubling in a pair and scoring once. He has also drawn a walk.
Free Kris Negron is 1-2. Make that 2-3. A single, a double and a .295 average now.

Latos is on for the sixth.

    Michael Lorenzen has it working down in Pensacola. 5IP 5H 0R 0ER 2B 3K.

Moose Mattair has a single and a triple to his credit. He has scored twice and knocked in a third.
Steve Selsky has a pinch hit single to drive in a run.
Juan Duran has tripled as well. He has knocked in a run and scored once. He has also gunned down a runner at the plate.

Chuckie Update: Yorman Rodriguez is 0-2 and made a throwing error.

Lorenzen is finished for the night. Drew Hayes is on. In his last ten games, Hayes has allowed just six hits in 11.1 innings of work. He has allowed 2 earned runs for an ERA of 1.59. He has fanned 11. Unfortunately, he has also walked 11 during that stretch.

Dayton is in Bowling Green. The game is in the top of the second, and is being delayed by lightning. Ismael Guillon is pitching for the Dragons tonight.

Dayton's game has just been suspended. It will be made up on 6/5.

    DSL Rojos lost 5-2.

David Jones started and gave up 9H in 3.2IP. He allowed four of the five runs.
Jean Lara was solid in relief of Jones, pitching shutout ball for 2.1 innings.
Alfredo Mateo and Hernando Guzman each hurled a perfect frame. Mateo struck out one, Guzman a couple of batters.

Luis Hernandez walked and tripled. He scored once and drove in a runner.
Michael Beltre is off to a hot start. He is hitting .538 after today's action. He singled, doubled, walked and scored a run.

A Rey Navarro throwing error in the top half of the sixth allowed an unearned run to score, cutting the deficit to 4-1.
But Navarro came back in the home half of the sixth and totally redeemed himself by tripling to lead things off. He later scored on, what else, a throwing error.

DSL Reds end up on the crying side of the scoreboard, 4-2.

Wendolyn Bautista coughed up all four runs in 3.1 innings.
Ismael Nunez pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings. He did not allow a hit.
Jairo Martinez went three shutout frames. He gave up a hit and a walk. He fanned three.

Erick Gabo and Derik Captillo each singled twice.
Gabriel Ovalle and Tomas De Los Santos each scored a run.

Adam Russell, Sharky Rogers and Curtis Partch have combined to hang three zeroes on the board so far. No change in the score. It still remains 3-2 in favor of Louisville heading into the ninth. The Bats will reach the .500 mark if they can hang on to this slim one-run lead.

Re: Wednesday, June 4, 2014...Minor League Updates:

The Blue Fish tacked on two insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth. Back-to-back doubles by Rey Navarro and Juan Silverio preceded a two-run single off the bat of Rossmel Perez. That made the score 7-1 at the time. Jacksonville has struck for two in the top of the ninth and are still batting. The score is currently 7-3 in favor of Pensacola.

It is over now and Pensacola wins 7-3, as Brooks Pinckard came on in relief of Elvin Ramirez to record the final two outs.

Louisville played add-on in the ninth, scoring a run. Neftali Soto was thrown out at home to end the threat.

Curtis Partch with the four-out save. Three Ks.

No shortage of closers in Louisville. Jumbo, Partch, Russell, and Marmol on the way, presumably. Trevor Bell would likely be on the list, as well, if he were healthy.
