Would like to see Adams @ 1.19 and Braxton Davidson @ 1.29. I have a feeling Wall be taken by the Royals and Chavis won't be there @ 1.29, so they end up taking Davidson.

I have no idea and never followed a baseball draft before.. so I hope to learn something about the players the reds will draft

Here are some simple rules: There will be plenty of overreaction in one way or the other. Even the college guys are 2-3 years away from being with the Reds. The high schoolers are at least 3-4 years away. There will be plenty of comparisons made and they are almost always wrong. What I've learned is that a lot of comparisons aren't as much about what the guy will perform like, but more about what he actually looks like when swinging or throwing. People will hold grudges for 10 years because the Reds didn't select the player that they wanted if that guy turns out to be any sort of good, regardless of how well the guy the Reds select actually turns out.

Royals will take Medeiros if he's there at 28. Cubs will likely take one of the three arms if they're there, otherwise might look to Schwarber. I think his floor is the Angels at 15 as the eventual successor to Pujols.

I did expect the overreactions and I knew that they are some years away from (hopefully) contributing with the Reds (thatīs different to the nfl and nhl)... how many time does each team has to make a pick?

Tonight, I believe you get 5 minutes between picks in the first round and 2 or 3 minutes for the second. Tomorrow I think its 1 minute between picks (rounds 3-10). On Saturday it is literally just "have your next pick ready" and they are usually onto the next pick pretty quickly as they get rounds 11-40 done in one day.

The only hard and fast rule that I would subscribe to is this: Pick a pitcher in the first round every single year. The only exception is if a position player fell a long way.
Zero chance the Reds miss the playoffs!

thanks, thatīs good to know! I watched the nfl draft once and it took forever until the next pick was announced (at 3 am it is even more annoying than it would be at 7pm)

Welsh told a story during today's game the the didn't even know he was drafted until the next day when he mother called him and told him that she read in the newspaper that he was drafted.

BA final mock has OF Bradley Zimmer at 19 and LHP Foster Griffin at 29. Historically the final BA mock tends to be the most accurate of the mocks. Zimmer could be interesting, not a name we've talked a lot about.

It is the most accurate, but once you get beyond the first 10 picks, even the most accurate is wrong more often than its right.

Awareness of the draft has changed so much. The first player I consciously remember the Reds drafting is Barry Larkin. The draft was so background even players were often not notified right away. Bench, for instance, I heard of while he was playing in the minors and talk was that this kid would take Edwards job away. When he arrived late that year it was mentioned he was the #2 pick in the draft. Never heard a word about it when he was drafted.

That kid is a high schooler? He looks older than me and I graduated college two years ago.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."
