Yesterday my dream ever since I was a little kid came true. I couldn't have gone through it all without these three people. They have been there for me through the ups and downs. Wouldn't want it any other way! I also want to thank all my friends and coaches especially @memphisbaseball and all they did for me. I am truly blessed! Can't wait to start my first job as a Cincinnati reds baseball player!

How soon from when these kids sign until we know where they will be assigned?

Short seasons start next Monday, so probably by this weekend (if not sooner).

The Billings and Goodyear rosters look fairly solid already

Cotillo also tweets that Reds third-rounder Wyatt Strahan received the full slot value of $588,700. MLB.com’s Mark Sheldon reported last night that the two sides had agreed to terms.

Not sure if those are updated or not, but I'd hope Franklin and Thompson would start in Billings this year. I'd think Marshall should be manning the hot corner in AZL. Not sure where Sparks will start (although I do think SMB should get promoted to Pensacola). I'd think Bakersfield would be too aggressive to start Sparks in, and Rahier should probably stay in Dayton all year.

Maybe Thompson stays in the AZL if they really want Blandino to start at SS in Billings. I'd imagine Strahan goes to Billings too. Any thoughts on where Howard will start? Also, shouldn't Luis Tabata be in the AZL by now, if he's really 19 or 20 years old?

If they were trying Howard at Reliever I might think he goes to Dayton. But since they intend to make him a starter... I think everyone is Billlings or Az.

Even though Lorenzen basically* started in Dayton under similar circumstances?

*He pitched 1 inning in AZ

I think it was very clear what the Reds were doing with Lorenzen last year: Convincing him that pitching was his future to the big leagues instead of hitting.

They talked a big game of letting him do both, then rushed him through four levels to reach Double-A in his first year, never getting more than a few innings at any level. It was all about getting him close, so he could taste things as a pitcher and so they could use him how they envisioned without much resistance on his part.
