    Re: 6/6/2014 Reds vs Phillies

The Reds have had some bad games this year.

But tonight they look like a defeated team. They can do nothing right. They can't hit at all. But worse, they look distracted and defeated.

Maybe they get back in this game, but either way, if I'm the owner, I start making changes tomorrow. This is not a product any Reds supporter is happy to watch.

its sad the only thing Reds fans can cheer for is a darn pizza because the team they want to cheer on to victories for cant even win..

Then he tore his meniscus. Some here said "see you after the All Star break" but Jay was back in 2 weeks. He came back without a rehab because I think he knew this team needed him. He tried to be a team player. He has struggled since. I'm not going to kill him for it. His track record buys him some patience in my book.
This team doesn't have time to be patient. They need its stars to perform like stars....consistently.

I've seen this movie far too often with Bruce. He has a hall of fame month or 2 every year, and he looks like he should be in AA the other 4. It's inexcusable for a guy with his talent level and his MLB experience. He should be getting better at age 27, not staying the same or, as is the case this season, worse.

Castellini can't be in a good state of mind right now.

Fired Dusty after last year's collapse (and other playoff collapses) and they are eating part of his contract still.

The Reds are spending a lot more dollars annually than their market size is.

This solid pitching staff is about to be purged after next season.

    Attendance is down this year.

Just not a good year at all.

Well, Bob is in a position to change things. He accepted an approach of sitting still with this personnel this past off-season. If he continues to accept that approach, well, you know.

    This in a nutshell
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008

I'm honestly not sure if there's a quick answer that can "be done tomorrow" though.

Are we talking about firing Walt?

I definitely agree that we need some changes on the field though, obviously.

As far as Walt goes, he did assemble a team that went to the playoffs 3 out of the last 4 years. I don't really fault GM's for playoff failures.

I fault Walt for Refusing to Claim Marlon Byrd when he could have helped the team more than a injured Ludwick!!! THAT was a HUGE blunder by this GM

Walt inherited a group that had its window opening. He made a very nice move on Latos. Other than that he has presided over the closing of said window with nothing to show for it.

Fired the manger last year, GM did nothing all winter and the team is worse.

    GM's turn
