Lutz!
Heading down for my 3rd game of the season. Last night was so fun and this Phillies pitcher should be no match for the boys.
The last time I saw Donald Lutz live I caught his grand slam in Dayton and he signed the ball after the game for my boy.
Attended 1976 World Series in my Mother's Womb. Attended 1990 World Series Game 2 as a 13 year old. Want to take my son to a a World Series Game in Cincinnati in my lifetime.
Red Raindog (06-08-2014)
then I'm truly a red raindog
A Rain Dog is a dog caught in the rain, with its whole trail washed away by the water so he can't get back home. A stranded dog, who wants nothing better than to get home.
People who live outdoors, people who sleep in doorways, loners knit together by some corporeal way of sharing pain and discomfort.
A term coined by Tom Waits on his album named Rain Dogs
Inside a broken clock
Splashing the wine with all the rain dogs
Taxi, we’d rather walk
Huddle a doorway with the rain dogs
For I am a rain dog too
(from Tom Waits' Rain Dogs)
The older I get - the better I was
and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)
I miss Raisor

Hate having Schumaker in LF. Prefer Lutz in LF and Pena at 1B. Brandon Phillips hitting third and Todd Frazier hitting 6th seems like a way to minimize the talent on the roster.
Hamilton CF
Pena 1B
Frazier 3B
Bruce RF
Mes C
Phillips 2B
Lutz LF
Cozart SS.
When Votto comes back, slide him in for Pena and use Ludwick or Heisey in LF against a RHP and that's the A team for the next 6 weeks IMO unless an acquisition occurs. Skippy should be Phillips caddy against tough RHP and give Phillips rest and not a starting corner OF even on a limited basis. He can play some CF when Hamilton needs rest.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I wish they'd just leave the Todd Father in the #2 spot.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.
This is off topic but I'm not starting a new thread for it.
Mike Trout is a beast. You see his grand slam last night? He golfed it out of the park.

Another fine baseball moment that many may have missed last night.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Big strike zone today. Hope Homer notices.

After a rough start, Homer did provide the only wins for the Reds against the Dodgers and Giants so far this year. Coming off two strong starts.

Phillies starter has a 6.11 ERA. That actually scares me against the Reds.

Not that it matters a great deal, but why in the world is Phillips batting third? Dude is not a good hitter
