Yes, it is. According to BA's calculations, the Reds will have $278K remaining in the bonus pool if all unsigned players sign for slot.

Do 33rd round draftees get a signing bonus?

With the reporting of Mardirosian signing for well over slot, that number is dropped considerably. He signed for $350K, I believe, more than double his slot.

I think the signings of Lopez and O'Grady for nearly $300K combined below slot kind of wipes out the Mardirosian signing dollars.

Upon closer inspection it looks like BA's calculation is the $100K they can spend on a pick outside of the first 10 plus the savings within the first 10. The savings within the first 10 had been $178.7K. I believe that with the Mardirosian signing it has been reduced to about 1K. If the Reds are to spend more on prospects drafted after the tenth round, they must either save money on existing top 10 or take a overage penalty.

Now that they signed their 9th and 10th picks for $5K each, they have a boatload of cash to spend on guys outside the top 10. But who? We know Trees is signing over slot. Who are the other guys that look like they need big dollars? Are they allowed to move this money to the International scene?

I don't know how much Trees will get over slot, but maybe they offer some extra to this guy,

    Tim O'Donnell ‏@FDNMSportsGuy Jun 7
Scooter Bynum turned down a $100,000 signing bonus from the Reds to go to school at Arizona Western
They also drafted alot of HS players in the 30's, so maybe one of them?

I don't believe the money can carry over into the International market.

31.935 - Joshua Palacios CF San Jacinto College North BA Ranking #324 He could possibly be offered above slot to sign.

Sucks that Bynum turned down the offer. He would've been a good grab. It looks like he's passing altogether.

So long as the Reds sign their top picks (which I assume they will), I'd be happy with those plus Trees and Palacios. If they get all of those guys signed, they did very very well.

I should note that Montrell Marshall likely signed over slot, and I haven't seen for how much yet.
