Bottom of the order did all that they could. Happy to get the gift run there.

Don't you think hitters know that? If they know he's going to throw a fastball 70-80% of the time, they are going to be sitting on it. He's got some good heat but he's not fast enough to make a living off of it exclusively.

Got Ramirez this time and facing Puig with two outs and nobody on is a very good thing.

I'm bullish on Cingrani. His ability to cause a swing and miss is incredible. He will be fine.

I don't think it is about how fast he throws it I think it is about deception with his fastball. Guys can sit on it and if he throws in the right spot they still swing through it. When he is locating his fastball up guys routinely swing through it at 92 looking like they are swinging through a 97 MPH pitch.

Nice job by Cingrani through three innings.

As long as he doesn't give up another HR to Van Slyke, he should get through the fourth without giving up a run.

It is truly amazing how exciting Billy Hamilton makes the most routine ground ball play.

Their third time seeing him in a game is where his lack of another pitch really haunts him.

CF never had it anyway. He had no bead on it at all. (On Phillips' hit)

Now, we have Bruce with men on base. That is a good thing.

That and when he tires and Gameday starts listing his FB as "change-up".

Even then I think it is much more a case of stamina. I think after about 80 pitches Cingrani really starts to lose it and then things get ugly quick.

I don't watch him personally enough to have any read on that. I've heard that before on Cingrani.
