It's weird listening to a game on radio. And I used to listen to tons of games on radio each year. But now, even the weekday "business day specials" are usually televised. It's a rarity when radio is the only option for me.

Brantley has improved a little as a PBP guy, but he's still awful for the most part. The game is much easier to follow when Marty is on the call. Brantley doesn't "paint the picture" of what is happening ... unless you count abstract art. On the other hand, Marty makes you feel like you're watching the game.

Rants and obsessions aside, Marty is a master. He is one of a small handful of truly elite pbp men.

2-1 Reds off of a Frazier HR. Votto is 2-2 with a double.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

As bad as Cozart is at hitting, he's really solid on defense.

So nice listening to an announcing team actually call the game and sound like they enjoy baseball. Really nice change of pace from an announcer sounding as if every slip up from a player is a personal insult to the announcer.

Even though Marty has evolved into the "get off my lawn" guy, I still enjoy listening to him on the radio. He's great on the radio and it's hard to think of Reds baseball without him.

Are you saying we should give players IQ tests before signing them?

I'm watching on gameday and the Reds are 30-34.

Why does it feel like they're 20-44?

Not that 30-34 is great or anything, but it's not a disaster with all the injuries.

They might not have got the 2nd out but that turn was insane. Holy cow.
