Leake surprises them with a hit, first and third.

If the Reds are going to have a backup SS who doesn't hit much, I kind of like Santiago. Switch hitter, decent approach at the plate, doesn't make too many mistakes.

Wouldn't mind him for another year if the Reds choose to have that type of player on the roster.

Awesome 0-2 hitting by Billy for an RBI single!
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    Hamilton singles home a run.

Hope the Reds get a 7 or 9 run lead in this game.

    Let's stay away from 8.

there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

    Billy Hamilton, RBI machine.

It feels like the Reds backup infielders are at least getting progressively less terrible. Wilson Valdez was the absolute worst, Cesar Izturis was horrible, and Santiago is just bad. Tremendous progress.

The great news here is that it's starting to get to the point where folks can stop worrying about the offense. It's clear we should all focus our displeasure with middle relief.

Just 9 more runs and I'll feel comfortable.
