there was no chance to get him. the bruins have no cap space and even a on year deal with lots of money counting towards next year would have been trouble (with the guys they have to sign aswell). iginla wants to play more than one year and with his age I don´t want to see him with a multi year deal in boston (with the capspace it was unpossible anyway)
good luck to him....
looking at some of those contracts is insane. pouliot, orpik, engelland... hard to judge which of those contracts is the worst

Not really - all of them grade out as being pretty good possession guys, just seems like they get rewarded more during the post season (especially in Bickell's case where they play him up front on a scoring line more come playoff time). I would expect that line to be diffiuclt to play against for the opposition even if they arent lighting it up on the scoresheet.
Brutal contract, but Florida has to in order to attract free agent talent.
Bolland I think is mostly broken with all of his injuries, especially his multiple back issues. Hard to imagine he can get through a full season at this point, and I don't think is capable of playing up to his full talents any more.
From Rotoworld w/ Rotoworld comments:
The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Patrick Kane to an eight-year, $84 million contract extension.
Jonathan Toews signed an identical contract. Kane and Toews new cap hits of $10.5 million annually don't take effect until the 2015-16 campaign, but currently they're projected to be the two highest in the league. Kane has emerged as a point-per-game player and a clutch performer in the playoffs, although his recent injury history makes him a bit of a risk going forward.

Toews fantasy value in standard leagues will always be a step below his actual worth as his offensive contributions are only a portion of what he brings to the table. He's a superb two-way center and a great team leader.

Absolutely insane isn't it?
Obviously who knows if these numbers are true, but if he wants money like Toews and Kane already, I feel badly for the fans of the Blue Jackets. Still, I hope he gets signed, I really want that franchise to stick [unless they want to move to Louisville].

I think they split a 2 years 8M or something.
Doesn't make sense for him to do a long term think without big bucks.
Doesn't make sense for them to give it to him.
He deserves a nice raise, but only for a few years.
Rangers-Blues tonight. Dan Boyle making his debut along with 19-year-old phenom Anthony Duclair for NY. Paul Stasny getting his first game for St. Louis and skating with Vlad Tarasenko.

If Johnathan Quick isn't the best goalie on the planet, I don't know who is. Last night, the Blues completely dominated the Kings yet the Kings win in a shoot out. The Kings gave up 43 shots and had 23 giveaways. Unreal.
He's ridiculous alright.
Been a fun season to start with.
