I'll take it as a positive that Phillips wasn't automatically re-inserted into the cleanup spot.
It seems to be a move to stroke his ego more than anything else really though, since he hasn't batted outside the top 4 with any regularity in years. I do wonder if he will get moved back up though if Mesoraco cools any at all.
Price has shown a willingness to push boundaries with his lineups, already having Votto in the 2,3, and 4 spot in the order, and I have to think/hope if another move dictates he will make changes.
That said, I would prefer Bruce in the 5th spot ahead of Phillips, but all in due time I guess.

Bruce down to 6th in the lineup - hasn't had many at bats down there since 2010. Hopefully it sparks him to a hot streak.
If evolution is outlawed, only outlaws will evolve!
Bruce was hitting pretty well though... .296/.354/.630 over his last 7. His hot streak already seemed to be starting IMO.

I've developed a lot of confidence in Bryan Price.
Since the injuries have alleviated, I think Price has shown some good managerial skill.
He doesn't mess around with batting orders too much IMO. Not since his players have returned.
If he was going to hit Phillips five and Bruce six, then Price had his reasons.
Bruce is hitting better, but he still seems overanxious, particularly in a few recent RISP situations. Maybe Price is taking some pressure off to get Jay to relax.
