Back-up catchers are easily obtained. If somebody will give what we need/want because Barnhart is involved, make the deal and don't look back. I'm not sure that he's a better option now than Bryan Anderson or Rossmel Perez, but if some one sees starter potential and pays for that... well... bye Tucker.

    Exactly.

By the time Frazier made it to the majors, most fans/prospect gurus were projecting him as a utility player who could provide pop off the bench and play passable defense at all four corner spots. No one thought he'd ever hold down a starting spot, much less become one of the upper echelon 3B in MLB.

Wasn't aware of that. Still hate to see an elite defender cast off at catcher.

Lorenzen is on the BP list. You linked the BA list. Both came out today.

    Oops, I stand corrected. Thanks!

What are the numbers on the BP list for the Reds prospects?

That BP top 50 has 6 Cubs, all position players, and 4 Pirates (3 pitchers). Only 1 Cardinal and no Brewers. NL Central is overly represented. Tough races ahead. Will be interesting to see how Cubs turn some of that MI offense into pitching.

I'm been rebuffed when I say Winker is closing on Stephenson as the #1 Reds prospect...was I that off-base? Is BA off-base? 9 spots is pretty darn close.

Personally I think BP is more accurate on this one than BA is. In that case, it's 30 some odd spots between the two, and when we are talking #10 to #40something, that's a big gap.

Personally, I think something like 15-25-35 seems about right. These are nits and nats though.

It's been awhile since we've had 3 top-50 guys right? Especially all at a similar/same level.
