I don't think Schafer was going to catch that, but the fan complicates things a whole lot.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

I hope they that guy out of the park. What an embarrassment.

I've always wondered why the ushers don't warn all the fans in the front row not to go over the railing to catch live balls every half inning.

Should be an out especially if youre gonna call New York and delay the game 10 minutes.

This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. I believe the rule is that if the fan interferes with a player trying to catch a live ball in the field of play, it's an automatic out.

Seeing the replay a few times, it's the correct decision.

I don't understand how you can assume the catch is going to be made.

How can you assume that was going to be caught?
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008
