Weird thing...I wasn't even thinking Mesoraco at the time. But of course it should have been him.

needed that hit one pitch faster -- like before Tucker left his barn door open

And 99% of those jobs are simple labor jobs that anyone can do.

Even in those that aren't simple labor, you're lying if you're telling those people's performance doesn't suffer in those situations. It's just that they aren't on TV every night at their jobs.

    Keep chopping away boys.

We can get to the Cubbie bullpen.

I'm certainly not saying it's not hard. It's INCREDIBLY difficult. It requires TONS of talent. But if someone asked you to play baseball for a living and to get paid to do it...not too many people would say no.

I'm going to drop this because I'm losing track of the game. I think you're just not following my point I guess.

This is a very winnable game for the Reds. Even with Hoover currently on the mound.

    Not really. Just longer

Who's saying the Reds performance won't suffer? Sure, they'll get tired. So will MANY other teams. You're making it sound like they're pulling a 20 ton weight up an incline for 8 hours a day 7 days a week for a month.

And btw...those "simple labor jobs" are far more physically draining than what we're seeing here. I don't feel sorry for MLB players. Garbage collectors? Yep.

(okay, now I'm REALLY dropping it. we can take it private if you'd like.)

If it was as strenuous as some are making it out to be here, you wouldn't see guys with physiques like some of the guys on MLB rosters. Holmberg for example. I'm not knocking the game at all. I'm not saying they don't hustle or put in the effort or bust their tails. But the whole 27 games in 27 days thing makes it sound like they're working in a child-labor shoe factory.

Oh yeah, and they do it 162 times a year for millions upon millions of dollars. Let's not act like it's not a great gig.
Those aren't jobs which require you to be playing at absolute peak performance to be productive.

Yes that was a very impressive infield single. I thought for a second it was leaving the yard. - texasdave 10/13/12
