Amen: Utah Considers Ditching Daylight Savings Time

    http://news.yahoo.com/utah-considers...235313112.html

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah residents said Thursday that officials should reject daylight saving time and join Arizona and Hawaii as the only states that don't adjust their clocks.

Speaking at the first public forum on the topic, businessmen, parents and outdoor lovers cited reasons to do away with the practice. The meeting marked the biggest advance for a movement that has sprung forward and fallen back at the state Legislature since 1997.

    I wish California would.

It serves a pretty good purpose if you want to get off work and still have some daylight to play with. I like it.

I'm a fan of DST, but I'm not a morning person. At all.

If they do this, they'll be joining most of Arizona (it gets confusing, but I think only Navajo Territory does DST. I'd look it up, but I don't really care.)

Personally, I would prefer DST all year round. The sun setting at like 5 PM in winter is just annoying.

Well our Montana winters are mild, but at least we have almost 8 hours of sunlight.

    I despise DST.

I like being able to go out and play 18 holes of golf after work. In general, I'm not sure how much of an impact it would make one way or the other.

Yeah, it's bad enough that are lives are unnaturally regimented but to then slam us twice a year with an abrupt change. Phooey.

That's the argument I make. You're extra hour comes late. So are you going to throw a picnic at 10pm? And is that worth getting up an hour earlier for months?
