Even at best I doubt you could call Brandon McCarthy "average". Maybe relative to that fellow we brought up to pitch against the Cubs. Things looking a little bleak and depressing right now.

A lineup composed mostly of AAAA chaff and the projected Opening Day bench finally reverting to form, I'd say, while the team's most prominent "star" is playing like a truckload of butts. On the plus side, Walt is stylin' hard in that Tommy Bahama he was sporting pregame.

Good point about San Diego. Let's hope for the same results after that debacle.

That said..... maybe the lack of Votto/Phillips and basically Bruce is just finally coming to a head.

Or maybe the lack of the front office to get help.

They played the Brewers after that series in San Diego.

They're playing the Brewers after this series.

This team has been getting up off the mat all season. They will do it again. Losing two in a row at any time was bound to happen. They can rebound.

The Reds will be fine. They've obviously grooved two easy ones to the Yankees for Jeter's benefit.

The only thing more over the top than the media's recent coverage of Jeter is the reaction to the media's coverage of Jeter.
