Billings now up 4-0 with home runs by Sparks and Blandino!

Really would like to see Sparks get a taste of Dayton this year at this rate.

    * I wonder what's going on with Winker? He went to the All-Star Future's Game, and since returning, played the first game on Thursday, but sat out the second game. He then didn't play yesterday, and is not in the lineup tonight.

A slight injury would be my first guess, but this time of year, you never know.
I just don't know what you are referring to here, if anything...

Yeah I was curious in the game thread about it yesterday. Something like he has only had 8 AB in 12 days or so.

    * I was referring to it being trade season. Winker's not going anywhere, unless it's major, but this time of season, when prospects don't play, it raises questions.

I can understand his lack of playing prior to Thursday. Him and Stephenson left like last Friday to participate in the Future's Game. My curiosity kicks in when after playing game one on Thursday, he doesn't play for the next two days.

*Also, if that was sarcasm, my bad.

Billings trails 11-4 in the 7th.

    Mahle: 4 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 4 K-not quite as awesome as his last start.
    Sierra: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, K

    Blandino: 1-3, Solo HR, BB
    Sparks: 2-2, 2B, HR, BB

AZL Reds trail 2-0 after 4.

    Constante: 4 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, BB, 4 K

Yonder Alonso is in the AZL Padres lineup tonight, and he is 0-2 against Constante.

Just a little fun fact there.

Re: Saturday July 19th 2014 Minor League Updates

AZL Reds trail 4-1 in the 6th.

    Constante: 4.1 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, BB, K
    Cuevas: 1.2 IP, H, 0 R, BB, 0 K

    Medina: 2-2, Solo HR

Alonso: went on to hit a 2-run HR, so forget that little fun fact from earlier.

"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."
