Sorry, Mr. Servo. That sounds like pretzel logic.
I didn't say I would have sent somebody else up.

I'm not speaking for anyone else, but I know it's very possible to not be thrilled with a player/move and still think it was the right call.

I know I dread seeing Heisey in there, but I also can realize that he has the best track record by far, of any pinch hitter that could have been sent up there.

Hard to admit, but you are right. I still would have used Rocco, but that's history. Maybe that's why Price is manager and I'm an old fart fan.

    Right.

If I'm playing MLB: The Show, I probably use Rocco because he's the best bat, the game doesn't factor in injuries to the catcher or pinch hitting abilities. Plus it's a video game. Price knows these guys in real life, as opposed to us behind a computer screen. Now that doesn't mean he's always right and we're always wrong, but he obviously figured Heisey could get a run in and he did on a ball that was smoked. I'm just not seeing what he did wrong, other than the fact that you didn't like it. I guess you would have been happier if Rocco came up and grounded into a double play because hey, Price used the guy you wanted him to use.

I didn't say that. I haven't given up all hope for postseason play (that's why I'm still on Gameday and game threads).

So I didn't see Heisey smoke the ball. Actually Gameday had it as a FO, not LO. What I recognized was that this team needed multiple runs there, not just one. Pretty sad when you dread seeing the guy that you agree is the right choice.

That is absolutely true. But it should be noted that it is textbook managing for the home team to bring a closer in a tie game in the ninth. Home closers don't get saves in extra innings. A point can be made that you would have liked to see Chapman in the ninth, but I just wanted to make sure the Brewers aren't thought of as geniuses for using their closer last night.

NO, and I agree. It wasn't brilliant, but their closer shut us down and we saw what happened in the 9th. Bridge is now burned down, so we can't turn back.
