I read this on Redlegnation that talks about OP's sentiment but hardly an official source. The article suggests this year might a lost year due to injury which I have to agree with, if the Reds continue to play out of contention. It would be smart to move Simon or Broxton for a return without losing a main starting pitcher. Reds still have Cingrani and Stephenson in AAA for 2015.
Take it for what it is worth, and to most, if not all of you, it will mean very little.

You can rip on me as a pointless poster, which is fine, or, as usually happens on this board you can sweep it into some 100 page thread that is only read by 10 or 12 of you, and other fans like myself by pass it due to it being all over the places.
Like I said, from what I have heard, from someone who would have a good idea of the subject, is that the Reds will try to only make a move at this deadline which will help them for 2015. It is what it is for 2014.

I don't, I hope you're right. The Reds have a few marketable pieces that could prove to be more valuable to other teams with less injury or financial concerns. IMO, anything done without 2015 in mind is short sighted and lacks merit.
