That's a lot better than I expected. I was expecting something in the mid-.600's...or worse.

A team shouldn't have to overcome the mishaps of a 3rd Base Coach.

    It's deflating.

Takes the wind out of your sails....not to mention pumping up the other team.

I like trying Bruce batting 2nd.... but the shift is obviously well into his head to the point he does not think he can hit when it is on. At all.

They do throw you pitches outside Jay that you could go the other way on, you just try to pull everything.

Exactly. Hence my wondering if he is coaching third base while high.

Did I hear the babbling heads blame Pena? got the sound down low but I thought I heard one of them say Pena has to hold up there --- I assume with the eyes he doesn't have in the back of head.....

Maybe Price figures that with this offense, the chances of beating the throw are always greater than the chances of getting another hit in the inning, but man ...

FWIW, if they'd held Pena...he would've scored on the sac fly to right by Cozart.

According to Joel Luckhaupt that's 22 non force outs at home for the the Reds this year. That's incredible.

they could replace the 3rd base coach with this sign and it wouldn´t change much (they would save some money though)

ok this sign would be more realistic

We didn't have a lot of options. Votto wasn't tearing the cover off the ball, while Votto's defense wasn't very good at all. Votto probably needs the year off. He's quite a problem for the REDS to try to figure out how to best use an asset they're heavily invested in.

Votto is like an airline stock...not much future, but you try to get what you can out of it.
