    Bucs May Get Lester

My gut feeling is Reds do little or nothing, St. Louis and Milwaukee make improvements and Pittsburgh trades three or four top prospects to Boston for Lester. They are very deep in the farm, much like Reds were before the Latos trade.

Hopefully the Bucs do get him, and trade away their best prospects in the process. No chance they resign him, and the Reds aren't going anywhere this year anyway.

Only thing that would suck would be the Cardinals getting Hamels. As he would kill the Reds like Oswalt did with the Astros for the next 5 years.

There is always hope that the Ms overpay for Lester. It's not a given that all is lost within the Reds division.

It won't take 3 or 4 top prospects to land Lester. He wants to sign long term in Boston. This is strictly a 2 month + playoff rental. Go ahead pirates, trade good prospects away for a loan.

Reds will be looking up in the standings the next 5 years(Cubs have very good EVERYDAY prospects coming) if they refuse to fix the offense.. look at all the wasted good pitching this year.. 1999 Reds had this type of pitching staff, no way they dont win the World Series with that good hitting team

Yeah whatever they've been doing for the past four seasons clearly isn't working. How can they possibly compete for division titles with their roster construct?

I wouldn't do anything that doesn't help for 2015 and later. Thinking this team with injuries is going anywhere is fool's gold. If nothing is there there is nothing wrong with standing pat until the off season.
