“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I doubt he passes all the way to the Reds but I hope they put a waiver claim in on him.

He's having a bad year but has a career .763 OPS. Not a bad pickup considering our alternatives. Seems low risk to me.

AL. Priority goes from worst to first in own league then proceeds to other league worst to first.

The SOSH folks are also drooling over the idea of chasing Latos or Cueto this offseason and a few want Votto too.

I don't think the Reds could get 'a' carp for Hoover let alone Mike Carp.

Or, to put it another way, maybe we did offer Hoover and the Red Sox didn't give a Carp.

I always threw carp back if I caught one. I would keep a Trout though.

    Re: Mike Carp DFA

Good call. I put forth this thread last offseason. The people who were against it were worried that he'd spend too much time in the outfield where he's a liability. Well, for the next month or more, he wouldn't have to play the OF. We need a 1B.

Also in my thread, the puns were every bit as good as the ones going down at Sons of Sam Horn right now.
