Corky Miller to have his number retired

... in Louisville. On Aug 31st, the Louisville Bats will have Corky Miller night, and he will be honored in a pregame ceremony making him the first player in the 30+ year franchise history to have his number (#8) retired. Very cool honor for Corky, who is truly a legend in Louisville!

    I can't help but wonder.

If he was named (and went by) Bob Miller...would his number be getting retired? Just a though that crossed my mind.

    Very cool though.

I attended my first Bats game this summer. I was very impressed by the way the club honors Louisville's baseball heritage. Great for Corky and the fans.

HE's been a roving catching instructor with the Reds for most of the summer.

I do not care much for watching minor league baseball, kind of seem like chronic exhibition games, BUT, they are needed and honoring guys who have toiled in the minors for the love of the game like Corky should happen more often.

I think that goes without saying.

I think they should take a concrete impression of the 'stache and set it in place right out in front of the stadium.
