So says a poll that has 42% of Ohioans naming the Indians as their favorite, with 34% going for the Reds.
Obviously, people are stupid. Plus, if you included Kentucky, West Virginia, southern Indiana, you'd find that 125% of people think that the Reds are the best.

Must be all those WS titles the Indians have. The last time they won a WS... the team they beat, 1948 Boston Braves, no longer resides in the same city or state. And they used to be the Cincinnati Red Stockings. That Boston team also brought about a semi-famous poem that read... First we'll use Spahn, then we'll use Sain, then an off day followed by rain, back will come Spahn followed by Sain, and followed we hope by two days of rain.

Clearly tongue in cheek, but seriously though, that attendance streak they have is phenomenal. I wonder if they'd draw bigger with more capacity or if they're pretty much maxed out.

The Reds are the most popular in my house, we both go to games and watch on TV.

Both teams have identical records going into the series, with the Tribe 6-1/2 out, but nobody in-between them and 1st Place, while the REDS are 4-1/2 out, but with two teams in-between them and first place. Hard to say who's in the better position to win the Division.

Most of Ohio's population centers are in the northern half of the state. I am from southeastern Ohio, and while there are Reds fans, there's hardly any people there.
I agree if you added Kentucky and West Virginia, it would equal out or even may go the Reds way.
Either way, Indians haven't won a world series in 66 years. Screw those guys.
You forgot the 2nd place Royals, Kingspoint. Easy to forget there is a pro team in KC.
