No doubt but he did everything perfectly and glove was in perfect position....he flubbed it up and his reaction said it all. He'd tell you he's gotta catch that ball.
But I honestly really don't care at all....in a tight game in a big situation yeah, but it's ALL good tonight.

"One problem with people who have no vices is that they're pretty sure to have some annoying virtues."
The Enquirer quoted Latos, saying, "I'm a little aggravated at myself. When you tell the catcher, 'I'm going off the pitches you want to throw.' Then you end up shaking him off. I basically contradicted myself." We were at the game and Pena came out and I wondered whether Latos wasn't happy with what Pena had called, but I see now it was the other way around.
Makes me think Mat ought to rewatch Bull Durham - "don't think, just throw it!" [Annie: "oh no, he's shaking off the signs."]
(of course, he best not emulate the horrid pitching motion of Tim Robbins. Movies really break down on that.

Pena and Negron had a couple of interesting plays. The one where it too a funny bounce and Pena's muffed it, not knowing where it was and Negron getting to the ball and easily throwing out the runner was a fun one. And that one's scored 3-4-1 in the books. But the other one was a ball hit to that side with both Pena and Negron moving towards. At the last moment, Pena hopped over the ball allowing it to go through to Negron who threw to Latos for a 4-1 put out.
