He's not. Yet some people maintain Walt should have gotten something of value for him at the deadline. I don't get their reasoning.

Red Sox got a nice prospect for an injured Justin Masterson, and he's much worse then Simon.

It's his legs that would likely go first. Pitching is as much about the legs as it is about the arm.

Okay, hang on. When did Simon add THAT pitch?!? Gameday has it listed as a screwgie. 68 mph.

He followed it up with a 64 mph screwball to whiff Jones.

It didn't LOOK like a screwball though. Anybody have any idea?

He pulls that out every now and then. Watching earlier in the season and they said when he throws it it just doesn't compute with major league hitters because it's so slow.

And yet, that's exactly what we've done. Go back and look at where we were when Votto & Phillips went down. July 7th was the last day Joey played. We were in 4th place, 5 games out.

Jesus Christ, Bruce out by a country mile.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

2-2. Hamilton scores on Frazier single, but Bruce thrown out at home.
