    Wow, RIP Robin Williams.

    Along with Bob Newhart, the man who made me laugh the most.

    His golf bit makes me cry every time. With laughter.

    But I have a tear in my eye now.

    I was happy to see Pam Dawber be on his sitcom this past fall, for one last turn as Mork and Mindy.

    So devastating.

    Mental illness is a very serious, debilitating illness. No one is immune from it. Please seek help if you need it.

    O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
    Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills;
    For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths--for you the shores a-crowding;
    For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
    Here Captain! dear father!
    This arm beneath your head;
    It is some dream that on the deck,
    You've fallen cold and dead.

    Simply unbelievable. But as stated, you never know, and depression of any kind is not to be trifled with. I'm always shocked when one of my 'friends' here at RZ shares their own battles with it because it so often seems to affect people you'd never suspect.

    RIP Robin.

    Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

    One of my favorites, but I always prefered:
    "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?"

    RIP Mr. Williams. Thanks for laughs. It's a shame what you had to go through to entertain the rest of us.

    Very sad. I remember watching him climb into the side-balcony of a theater doing stand-up. There was no one remotely similar. I also loved hearing stories about him and Bobcat Goldthwait hanging out into Robin's Rumpus Room. Because of course.

    Re: Rip robin williams

    I'm misty-eyed after hearing this news. He played a big role in my childhood memories of movies... Patch Adams, Hook, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji... and one of my absolute favorite movies of all time in the Dead Poets Society. That is of course, not to mention the countless other movies of his that I've enjoyed over the year.

    Such a tragic and sensless loss of a brilliant talent. He will be missed greatly.

    Most comedians suffer from depression. It's almost a requirement for the job. Content, happy people aren't funny. Horrible to say, but I'm actually surprised this doesn't happen more often in the comedy world.

    Outside of Steve Martin...my all time favorite comic. Really depressed today. I'm getting to that age when all my favorite actors, musicians, etc are starting to pass away. Just sad. RIP Robin, you brought a LOT of joy to a LOT of people.
