Future additions to the Reds Hall of Fame

I enjoyed watching the various happenings surrounding the Reds Hall of Fame this past weekend. In your opinion, who do you look for in the near future to be added to the Reds HOF? If you were voting or providing input, who would you place on the ballot?

Yeah they can't keep this pace up. After the low hanging fruit is picked and things balance out....do 3 players making their Reds debut each year make the hall? No way.

Wayne Krenchicki. Just kidding. I just loved watching his batting stance back in the day. Obviously, John Franco, Pete Rose (when the ban is lifted) and, who knows, in the future possibly Adam Dunn. I know, I know, but he's fourth all-time in HRs for the Reds and had a 16.1 WAR in Cincy (and a horrific -14.8 defensive WAR). I'm certain Marty Brennaman can't wait for that phone call.

Besides the obvious of Franco, Pete and The Nasty Boys, how about Sweet Lou, Freddie Norman and Johnny Edwards?

I'd love to see the Nasty Boys go in as a group, but I don't think Myers is eligible, didn't play for the Reds long enough (same as Billy Hatcher, less that three years, which I think I've seen is the rule). They've already backed it off from every year to every other year but I think they're gonna run out of players even at that pace. Paul O'Neill is a glaring absence IMHO. I agree too on Sweet Lou, he should be in also (He did manage for 3 years).

Old timer Charley Jones - 8 seasons with the Reds altogether, including the original 1876 NL team, and later the AA Reds. Hit .300 or better 5 times and just missed (.294) another year. From 1883 to 1885, he hit 22 home runs, had 186 RBI, and batted .310 and for the first 9 years of MLB was the career home run leader. He was colorful - when his wife caught him with another woman she threw cayenne pepper in his eyes. His batting average dropped 52 points afterwards. He was blackballed from the league because of money owed him by Art Soden. Although Jones won his case in court the league blackballed him in 1881 and 1882. The Reds picked him up again for the 1883 season. He was controversial, popular in Cincinnati, and one of the games first power hitters (though his numbers look pedestrian by todays standards). He was also, quite probably, the best hitter the Reds had had until Reilly and McPhee came along.
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

I'd say Scott Sullivan might make it, as well as Aaron Boone. Pickens' are getting slim indeed.

No offense to Oester, but if they are going to let him in, the door is pretty much open for any decent player that lasted 5+ years.

Arroyo should be a lock, as is Phillips when they retire.
Dusty as a manager , Lou if he qualifies.
    Definitely Sullivan.
    Maybe even Graves.
    Aaron and Bret Boone.
    Joe Oliver?

As someone else said, most of the easy picks are already in there. lol
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob
