I agree 100% with Age of Ultron.
I didn't like GotG2 but I actually liked it better than the first one. The Guardians sense of humor is just not my bag. I lean more toward the dry, meta, slightly tedious and absurd-yet-smart humor in Ragnarok than the James Gunn NERD BRO humor of GotG.
Civil War I actually really liked but I hope that is the last truly SO SERIOUS Marvel movie. Civil War was my last bite of that self-importance that I can enjoy without wanting to heave.

Watched Obey Giant on Hulu. It's a documentary on Shepard Fairey. There's plenty of political tones to it, but I simply loved the art perspective of it.

Tossing out a pet movie theory here: Southland Tales is actually a sequel to Showgirls. Different characters but same nonsensical alternate reality 13 years later. I've had a few people take up my dare to watch them back-to-back (not easy because both are terrible) and everyone who has pretty much agrees they both begin to make sense viewed as two halves of a whole.

Got free tickets to see Justice League last night. I wasn't expecting much, and that's exactly what it was...not much.
At least Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad were entertainingly bad in some ways. This was just boring. No real tension, wildly inconsistent tone, and it just looked kinda cheap.
DC has constructed a dark, dreary movie universe, utterly joyless. I think they've got a Batman problem. They run everything through a Batman filter and it all becomes superhero noir. Haven't seen Justice League, but that seems to be among the many knocks on it.
They do much better on TV where there is no Batman (outside of Gotham, which is self-contained).

Saw Justice League opening night and while it isn't as bad as some reviews it's unfortunately pretty close. When the end of credits scenes are the best a movie can offer you know you have issues. I think even DC fans will have a hard time with this.
