    Rich Eisen bumps Jay Mohr

SO disappointed in the decision to bump Jay Mohr for Rich Eisen show in the 12-3 slot here in Louisville. I assume this happened in quite a few stations? Rich's show is BRAND NEW! Why not let it marinade for awhile? See what it's all about and if it's any good first? Typical big name slurping, NFL, Dan Patrick, blah, blah, blah...

I listened to Rich today and cannot recall anything more vanilla and boring on the radio outside of the coma inducing sounds of NPR. There is no way possible this is the correct decision...simply can't be.

So, I guess I'll just have to take my ball and go home and hope that enough other people do the same. As someone who cancelled cable and completely got rid of the television because of programming decisions eerily similar to this one, I truly hope this doesn't last too long.

Selah, only one less listener for 790 AM. Doubt they'll kick up much dust.

That's interesting. In LA they moved Jay Mohr from the 9-12 slot to the 12-3 slot and instead of Rich Eisen in the 9-12 they are putting a local spots show there. The national syndication of Fox Sports Radio is Dan Patrick, Rich Eisen and then Jay Mohr, but it depends on the local affiliate.

I always like the Rich Eisen Podcast becfore he got his show, but I'm not sure how the once a week show traslates to three hours daily.

Edit: I realized that I wasn't accounting for the time difference. So maybe Jay Mohr is now your 3-6 show?

I would love to have Eisen replace Mohr in my market.
The lowest acceptable payroll amount for ownership to show they are not greedy pigs is 15 million more than they are currently paying. No matter what that currently is.

How Jay Mohr has a career in entertainment is beyond me

Jay is tough to take in more than small doses. He can be very funny. Rome isn't in the Austin market anymore when he was I could only take him in small doses and I loved when Mohr filled in for him. Some of the things they do on Jay's show on a daily basis are just really awful and I'll go a couple weeks without tuning in at all.

I haven't heard Eisen's radio show but I do like him on NFL Network, but again up to this point I've only seen him in small doses. I'd be ok with Austin giving Eisen a shot in Jay's place.

Ha. I just went to the station page here in Austin and they have replaced Mohr with Eisen, I didn't even bother checking with Mohr today. I'll give it a listen tomorrow.

They have bumped Mohr to 6-9 here also. Guess it's network-wide. Good for me because I never listen from 6-9 but I often did while driving from 12-3. We have 2 sports stations here and when my main station got in a topic I did't care for I would jump over to Mohr. I am more then happy now to jump to Eisen

That's kind of ridiculous. He's a talented guy, just not particularly a good every day radio show host. Jay will never be the mega star he thinks he should be, but he's a decent stand up and actor.

He is tolerable as an actor in a supporting role but his comedy and stints as a radio host do nothing for me.

Yeah. He's a talented impressionist which puts him in that middling headlining comic range. My main point is that I don't think its ridiculous that he has a career in entertainment.

I remember listening to one of the first days of Jay's radio show and clearly remember him saying "we're not gonna go crazy with the sound drops on this show, we're just gonna talk sports." Not only does he go way overboard with the sound drops but the guy who plays the sound drops has a major role on the show where they discuss him playing the sound drops. That makes me laugh.

All the sound drops and inside jokes are 100% what made it for me on JM show. DP and Eisen and ESPECIALLY Rome take themselves so seriously I can't stomach it. Hell, DP and Eisen are the same show as far as I can tell. I spend my entire work day in my car and after 3 hours of DP I'm full up on superiority complex and cronies.

Oh, well. Now that baseball is over I can probably better spend that time listening to business related pod-casts until April.
