Good, fun story. I always wonder why? about that hair. Now we know the rest of the story. Also a very good thing for him he finally changed his hairstyle at the behest of his wife.

Keady was voted "Person most likely to be confused with a Dick Tracy villain" in our annual NCAA pool.
I miss seeing him on the sidelines.
    Next up, Denny Crum?

About the comb over; my dad shed his round about 1992 and our reaction at home was just great relief that he could quit putting all the time and effort into it.

Think about all though righteous battle's between Keady's hair and Lou Henson's hair. Epic.

Now $600 per week sounds like a lot of money to get your hair done. But I bet it was a drop in the bucket for the Keady family back in the day. If anyone remembers the games and seeing Gene's departed first wife.....she had to have been wearing about $2,000 worth of make-up!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to work with a girl whose wedding I went to and I saw her father at the wedding. His hair looked very unusual. Almost like a rug but not quite. When she got back from her honeymoon I asked her what was the deal with her dad's hair. She told me he keeps it extra long in the back and combs it over to the front.
