I can only picture lots of blisters from that experiment, woy. Lots of blisters.

Frankly, I can't even imagine wearing my desert boots in the summer. Winter/fall only for me.

My wife works for a company under the Urban Outfitters umbrella so I get 40% off online purchases, otherwise I probably would not spend so much on shoes.
I may have 8 pair. May. LOL...

I am a complete and total woman when it comes to clothes. I get on ebay and try to find the most expensive items I can for as cheap as possible. Like Barry Larkin, I don't pay retail for anything.

These are one of my favorite pair, they are shiny silver. I call them my tin man shoes:

I bought them but haven't worn them because I just can't decide if they are cool or too weird.

Yes. I only wear socks when I absolutely have to.

If you can pull off those "tin man" shoes, I an sure these will work too. Me? I just go with solid colors.

I have a few of those, too. Nothing wrong with the solids.

The best part of Converse is they never go out of style.

    What about these, Dom?

I am not opposed to a high top pair of Varvatos Converse but I don't think I'd wear these.

    Re: The footwear thread

I do not like those white high tops. A little too young/punky for my taste. I'd need some spikey hair, skinny jeans and maybe a London Calling pose to make them work...As a rule I avoid the high tops- I always think it's a younger dude thing, though I have seen some celebrities in their 60's wearing them.

I generally like John Varvatos because you can be a middle aged or even older guy and still wear his stuff. Think about your older uncles and aunts and the clothes they were limited to when we were younger- I just do not want to be the guy in an Arnold Palmer pair of golf pants with a polo shirt.

So anyway- I love the Varvatos Converse because they give me a choice as an older dude to wear sneakers with my jeans that don't make look like a mall walker.

Now- as far as the zipper on those high tops, I do have a pair of low tops with the zipper that I really like:

Can you store your milk money in those?

I have been repeatedly tempted to purchase a pair of these for that reason...

My wife is trying to get some sleep and I just woke her up laughing at your post.

The Converse zipper works, but it opens up nothing, really.

You brought back some memories with the 'roos.

Roos are the best. I wish they had done a better job with the relaunch though. They are really just a poor man's New Balance now. Could have been so much more...

Puma low tops for me. Easy to slip on, pretty good sole support, and it feels like I could break out in a comfortable jog if I needed to.

I'm in the market for something to hike in--what have yall got for me?

Are we talking rough off-road hiking here?
