I think all the things that were said in analyzing the matchup are similar to what was said a few years ago when they met in the Rose Bowl. It seems the Ducks are plug and play on offense, and the word was the same then--how is Ohio State going to stop all those weapons and play at that pace? Well, I imagine they will do just fine.

Oregon is the same, but Ohio State is quite a bit different. That team was a little more solid defensively (better linebackers at least) and didn't like to play at the tempo that this OSU offense does. That OSU team also had 40 days to prepare for just Oregon and was completely healthy. I don't think we had any injuries and will probably get Dontre Wilson back, but still only get a week to prepare this time.

This true, but Oregon only gets a week to prepare as well. I know you got to win the first one to get to the next one. But I bet all 4 coaching staffs were pouring over tape of the other 2 teams they could face if they got by that first one.

As far as the game...I just don't know. I just look forward to watching it.
...and this one belongs to the Reds.

This is a two sided equation Oregon has to stop Ohio State too. Ohio State has played 5 of the top 13 defenses in the country. They have averaged 44.7 points against them. Oregon is ranked 84th on defense.

Going back to the FSU-Oregon, Florida State did put up 528 yards on Oregon. FSU just puked the ball up all over the place.

I anticipate a good game, I am terrified of Mariotta, but I kind of like Ohio State in this one.

Ohio State will have played all 3 Heisman finalists, three games in a row.

Urban Meyer and his staff have pulled off one of the best coaching jobs in history this season.

I highly respect Oregon but after beating Bama and getting that SEC monkey off our back, I fear no one any more.

All I'll say about this game so as to not completely jinx myself. I said I thought OSU and TCU deserved to be in over FSU. If OSU starts like they did against Bama with turnovers there will be no game much like Oregon vs FSU. If they turn it over more than twice they will lose, I have never seen an offense work so well at converting quick change opportunities.

And I'm taking the over whatever it is.

Has any team ever beat #1 and #2 in back to back weeks? Has any team ever beat two out od conference champions in the same year? Has any team ever won 3 straight neutral site games as an underdog?

I wish I could answer those questions...but I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Everything associated with the Buckeyes season is unprecedented.

Petition to temporarily change the name of Oregon, Ohio to honor Buckeyes in the national championship game

"I grew up in Oregon, Ohio and love the city, but for the day of the "Big Game" I am asking the city council to make a proclamation to change the name of the city for one day. Call it Buckeye Town, Ohio City, Brutusville, whatever, you get the point," Squibb said in the petition, "Let's not leave anything to chance here! Change the name and support the Buckeyes!"

Looks like the little bar/party part of downtown Dayton, the Oregon District, will have to change names too. Although OREGON is not pronounced the same way as the state.

Haha, grew up right next to Oregon, OH - still go to the Sundance Drive-In when my wife and I have a chance.

I saw the first Michael Keaton Batman there as a young boy. Oh, the memories are a flooding back right now!

No green, yellow in Ducks' uniforms

Oregon to wear gray helmets, white jersey and gray pants with not a touch of green or yellow. Or you know, Ohio State's away uniforms.

Is this gamesmanship or just a coincidence and they would have worn these against Bama as well?

I'm guessing that no matter who won, they were always going to wear a different uniform in the semis and the finals. Nike would probably make less money if OSU and Oregon wore the same uniform twice.
