Over last 18 months, Yu Darvish, Matt Harvey, Jose Fernandez and Masahiro Tanaka have suffered UCL injuries. This isn't going away, either.

Not saying I like this idea, but wonder what they'd give up for Cueto.

I'm not necessarily in favor of the idea, but they either trade Cueto now or they trade him in July. There's no way they can afford him.
Or they try to win and just let him walk. I'm in favor of that option personally, unless of course it becomes evident by July that they aren't going to win. No way I trade him now though.
