Will the Cubs finish better than the Reds in 2015?

I ask because I have an obnoxious Cubs fan who is uber confident that they will and he won't stop yapping about it (typical).

I think it's definitely possible but a lot can happen. What say you?

I say no, but apparently the media, just about everywhere, thinks the Reds will finish below the Cubs.

If the Reds finish higher than the Cubs for the next 2-3 years and/or the Cubs have a major fire sale a la Miami Marlins, then the media and experts will go back and revise their 2015 predictions and place the Reds higher than the Cubs.

I think the Cubs are the most over bought club this season. I like the direction they are going, but I don't think they are there yet.

I will also say no, unless Jon Lester gets to start 162 games this season.

There's no question in my mind that it's a possibility, but I've been saying all winter that the entire Central Division race will likely be a complete dogfight from start to finish.

what i expect as well. if the reds avoid major injuries they will be there for most if not all of the season.

I say yes. I think people on RZ are sleeping big time on the Reds downside potential, especially if they get off to a bad start and decide to pull the plug.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I've seen the Reds do that in person when he was with the Nationals. Gave up all of two hits and one run.
