Archer finished with 15 Ks. First since Dwight Gooden to have back-to-back 12+ K games with 0 BB.
Rounding third and heading for home...

Watching the Cards/Brewers game. I don't usually watch the St Louis feed, so I'm not too familiar with their announcers. Why do they make every single play sound like the most important/exciting play of all time?

Cardinals TV announcers are the worst. Maglaughlin (sp?) is a company man and a drunk. Hrabosky is a fake tough guy with $h!t for brains, just like when he was a player, Horton just doesn't seem intelligent in the booth. And of course, they've added McCarver for about 40 games a year. Bad if you like analysis, fantastic is you like drinking games.

That's mainly McLaughlin who is a huge homer. He has to change his pants after every deep fly ball.

And as the other guy pointed out, the cardinals booth is pretty awful. I usually either mute the broadcast or have my kids talking over it anyway.
I don't like to sound egotistical, but every time I stepped up to the plate with a bat in my hands, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the pitcher.

In a move that surely will have repercussions around the world, the Ms bolstered something, most likely their payroll.

"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariners are in a win now mode and with that comes the pressure of not throwing in the towel.

Aww, too bad. I don't love the hill, but I did like the thinking behind it of giving a ballpark a unique twist.

The hill was too steep. If it had been a more gradual slope and not so blatantly artificial, it may have been more accepted.

Yeah, I think you're right. To the uninitiated the hill was something of a homage to the left field slope in Crosley Field. This one just seemed unnatural. Wonder if they are going to leave the CF distance the same.
