Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

    Monday, April 13

Only two squads were eligible for MiLPOD honors after Louisville and Pensacola were both postponed tonight. Rather easy selection as well with Seth Varner, Dayton getting the nod...5 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K.

The Cincinnati-born lefty tossed three double-play balls en route to winning his first start of the year. Varner - no apparent relation to Noochie - is a product of Clermont Northeastern HS and Miami University and was a 10th round pick by the Reds in 2014.

    Other notables:

    Chad Wallach, Daytona: 1-4, 2B, R, RBI

    Robert Ramirez, Daytona: 1-3 RBI

    Sammy Diaz, Daytona: 1-4, 3B

    Joel Bender, Daytona: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Ty Washington, Dayton: 2-4, BB, R, RBI, SB

Avain Rachal, Dayton: 3-4, R, 2 RBI, SB

    Narciso Crook, Dayton: 1-3, R, 2B, RBI

    Scott Brattvet, Dayton: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

    Alejandro Chacin, Dayton: IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

Man, you had an easy debut, Reds Freak. But a good one!

Does it seem to anybody else that Varner has kind of suddenly materialized as a prospect? Seems like, as a tenth-rounder last year, the MAC Pitcher of the Year, and a local kid at that, there should have been at least a little buzz about him. If there was, I missed it. He started only one game for Billings last season, although I guess that was probably a workload thing. At any rate, being a Southern Buckeye Conference guy, I'm glad to see him off to a great start in Dayton.

Varner was a "money saving" 9th round pick. With that said, he looked better than any of the reports I had on him from last year, so it's worth keeping an eye on.

Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

    Tuesday, April 14

Jon Moscot, Louisville . . . 5.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K. The pride of Pepperdine (Redszone prospect #14) made a first-inning run hold up in his duel with veteran lefty Bruce Chen. Last year, the tall righthander had four scoreless starts.

Also notable on a day when the farmhands managed but 13 hits over four games . . .

Eugenio Suarez, Louisville (game one of doubleheader): HR. The ostensible shortstop-in-waiting led off the first inning with a blow that produced the game's only run.

    Nate Adcock, Louisville: .2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, Sv.

Jacob Ehret, Dayton: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K. The 6-3 righthander, a 14th-rounder last year out of UCLA, had given no previous indication that he had this in him.

Mark Armstrong, Dayton: 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K. Faced a South Bend lineup featuring guys with first names of Chesny, Giosker, Cael, Gleyber, and Charcer, and went medieval on them.

Aristides Aquino, Dayton: Scored the walkoff run in the ninth after doubling down the right-field line and steaming home from third on Jimmy Pickens' ground ball.

    Narciso Crook, Dayton: 1-3, 3B, R, RBI.

    Jose Ortiz, Dayton: 1-3, 2B, R, RBI.

    Brennan Bernardino, Dayton: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K.

Phillip Ervin, Daytona: 1-3, BB, SB (2). Former first-rounder led off for the Tortugas.

    Nick Travieso, Daytona: 5.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 5 K.

Zack Weiss, Daytona: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K. Worked a strong ninth inning, then said, "You know, Skip, I really like pitching the eighth, if you catch my drift."

    Blaine Howell, Daytona: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. Lefty missed all of 2014.

    David Holmberg, Louisville (game two): 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 5 K. See, he's okay.

    Tucker Barnhart, Louisville: 2-3, 2 2B.

    Jose De La Torre, Louisville: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K.

Dan Johnson, Louisville: 0-0, 3 BB.

Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

    April 15 POD:
In a day with 2 rainouts and 2 wins Tyler Mahle gets the nod over Wendell Soto but it was close. Soto homered and drew 2 walks and had a sacrifice. Mahle flat shut down the HotRods. Axelrod gets a nod, too for his start against Indy. In the end though it was about shutout dominance:

    Tyler Mahle SP Dayton 6.2IP 4H 0ER 1BB 5K win (1-0 0.77 era 2 starts)

    Others:
    Dylan Axelrod SP Louisville 7IP 2H 1ER 1BB 4K Win, (1-0 1.38 era in 2 starts)

Nate Adcock RP Louisville 1IP 0H 0ER 0BB 1K Save (2) With Axelrod, Hand and Adcock the announcers must have thought someone said "over the hill" not on the hill

Jake Paulson RP Dayton 1.1IP 4 straight outs, hold

    Ivan DeJesus 3B Louisville 4AB 2H 0R 0RBI 0BB 1-2B now hitting .474 "maybe if I hit .500 they'll notice me"

Tucker Barnhart C Louisville 4AB 2H 0R 1RBI now at .313 Pride of Brownsville, the Reds must have a thing for really nice guys for backup catcher

    Irving Falu 2B Louisville 3AB 1H 0R 1RBI 1-2B 1SF

    YRod CF Louisville 4AB 1H 1R 0RBI 1-2B

    Wendell Soto 2B Dayton 1AB 1H 2R 1RBI 2BB 1-HR nice night for the new Soto

    Narciso Crook CF Dayton 3AB 1H 1R 1SB

Axelrod pitched extremely well to lead Louisville, Falu got the GWRBI with a sac fly. Eugenio Suarez, erstwhile future SS of the Reds, continues to struggle early, hitless in 4 AB now at .154

Donovan Hand came on in the 8th and loaded them up(single, walk, HBP)with 1 out but managed to get out of it. Not lot of confidence when Nate Adcock came in for the 9th but he set them down 1-2-3, fanning Morel to end the game. The Bats out hit Indy 7 to 3 in winning 2-1 over the Bucs farmclub

Despite getting just 3 hits Dayton won 4-0 as Mahle was pretty dominant. Wendell Soto cracked a solo shot and had a perfect game OBP-wise, Hr, 2 BB and a sacrifice.

Pensacola and Daytona were rained out.

Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

April 16th: Good day for the farm system as they won 4 out of 5 games. A number of good starting pitching performances, among them were Michael Lorenzen, Barrett Astin and Wyatt Strahan. Zack Weiss faced the minimum out of the pen over three innings, striking out five and picking up his first save on the season. But the MiPOTD, by a narrow margin, is....

Josh Satin, Louisville... 2-2, BB, 2 Sac Flies, 4 RBI. Satin is hitting .313.

    Eugenio Suarez, Louisville... 2-5, RS.

Ivan De Jesus, Jr., Louisville... 2-4, BB, 2 RS. De Jesus, Jr. is hitting .478.

    Irving Falu, Louisville... 3-4, 2B, 2 RS.

    Michael Lorenzen, Louisville... 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K.

Sam LeCure, Nick Christiani and Jose De La Torre each hurled a scoreless frame in relief for Louisville.

Beau Amaral, Pensacola... 1-4, BB, RS.

Zach Vincej, Pensacola... 1-4, BB, RS, SB.

    Jesse Winker, Pensacola... 2-4, RBI.

    Yovan Gonzalez, Pensacola... 1-4, 2B, 2 RBI.

    Layne Somsen, Pensacola... 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K.

    Drew Hayes, Pensacola... 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K.

Philip Ervin, Daytona (Gm 1)... 1-4, HR (2), RS, RBI.

    Alex Blandino, Daytona (Gm 1)... 2-3, 2B.

Chad Wallach, Daytona (Gm 1)... 1-2, HR (1), BB, RS, RBI.

Taylor Sparks, Daytona (Gm 1)... 2-3, HR (1), 2 RS, RBI, SB.

Cam Maron, Daytona (Gm 1)... 1-2, BB.

Carlton Daal, Daytona (Gm 1)... 1-3, RBI, 2 SB.

    Joel Bender, Daytona (Gm 1)... 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K.

    Zack Weiss, Daytona (Gm 1)... 3 IP 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K, SV (1).

Robert Ramirez, Daytona (Gm 2)... 1-3, HR (2), RS, RBI.

Joe Hudson, Daytona (Gm 2)... 1-2, RS. He is batting .375.

    Barrett Astin, Daytona (Gm 2)... 5 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 5K.

    Evan Mitchell, Daytona (Gm 2)... 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K, SV (3).

    Gavin LaValley, Dayton... 2-4, 2B, 2 RS.

Aristides Aquino, Dayton... 1-3, 2B, BB, RS, RBI.

    Brian O'Grady, Dayton... 1-3, 2B, BB, 2 RBI.

    Wyatt Strahan, Dayton... 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 3 K.

Jeremy Kivel, Brian Hunter and Alejandro Chacin each worked a scoreless inning of relief for Dayton. Chacin picked up his first save.

Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

Satin becomes only the second position player to win the day. The other was Steve Selsky. Both are Bats.

The strong night last night brought the farms to an even .500 for the first time this season. Nice pitching. Both starting and relief. The bullpens, collectively, pitched 18.1 scoreless innings.

The bullpens have been impressive so far. The starters have been great with a couple exceptions and hopefully those were just minor hiccups (Romano). Pitching has been as advertised but whoa - the hitting has been spotty and disappointing. Guys like Satin, Selsky and DeJesus have been the bright spots so far while the more heralded have been from so-so to blah. Hopefully that changes as the summer heats up. Suarez and YRod are really scuffling.

Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

    Friday April 17th
Several guys to consider for POD honors. Adleman, Iglesias, Wright, Waldrop but one guy really stood out to me - Phil Ervin.

Phil Ervin CF Daytona - 3 for 4 plus a walk, 3 doubles, 3R, 1RBI, 6 total bases now at .310 PHIL POWER

    Pitchers
    Raisel Iglesias SP Louisville 5IP 3H 1BB 1ER 3K

    Chris Carpenter RP Louisville 2IP 1H 2BB 0ER 2K

    Nate Adcock RP Louisville 1IP 0H 0BB 1K

    Carlos Contreras RP Louisville 1IP 2H 0BB 1K

Dan Wright SP Pensacola (g1) 5IP 2H 0R 1BB 6K no decision (lowers era to 7.04 which tells you how bad Dan's first start was)

Tim Adleman SP Pensacola (g2) 5IP 2H 0R 0BB 5K 2DP faced 15 batter minimum. Where did that come from?

    Carlos Gonzalez RP Pensacola (g2) 1IP 1H 0R 0BB 0K, hold

Kyle McMyne RP Pensacola (g2) Win, 2IP 1H 0R 2BB 2K shades of wild thing - effectively wild, though. 40 pitches 24 strikes ERA still 0.00

    Amir Garrett SP Daytona 5IP 7H 2BB 3ER 6K

    Nolan Becker RP Daytona 1IP 3H 2BB 2ER 2K

    Jimmy Moran RP Daytona 1IP 1H 1BB 0ER 1K 0.00 ERA

    Blaine Howell RP Daytona 1IP 0H 1BB 0ER 1K

    El'Hajj Muhammad RP Daytona 0.1IP 0H 0BB 0ER 0K (W, 1-0)

Tejay Antone SP Dayton 5.2IP 5H 0BB 1ER 3K another young arm to keep an eye on

    Hitters
Dan Johnson 1B Louisville 1/6, but his 13th inning single knocked in Falu with the go ahead, then he steals 2nd

Chris Dominguez 3B Lousville 1/2, infield single in 13th helped take the lead, added a stolen base part of double steal with Johnson

Irving Falu 2B 1/4, single, run, scored the go ahead after his 13th inning single, stole 2nd, scored on Johnson's hit Yahoo! Falu!

Ivan DeJesus 2B Louisville 1/3, single, BA now at .462 1 for 3 and his average drops about 15 points he's the sizzle at 2nd

Steve Selsky RF Louisville 2/6, 1R, double

Bryson Smith CF Louisville 3/5, all singles, RBI

Ramon Cabrera C Louisville 1/4, single, notable because its his 1st hit - now at .071 on the year

Kyle Waldrop 1B Pensacola (game2) 1/3, 2RBI, HR(2nd of year), a solo shot, GWRBI in 9th on SF scoring Winker, tonight's Mr. Clutch

Sean Buckley LF Pensacola (game2) 2/3, pair of singles now hitting .364

Jesse Winker RF Pensacola (game2) 1/4, double, 1R Jesse saved his double for the 9th and scored game winner on Waldrop's SF

Juan Perez SS Pensacola (game2) 1/4, double, RBI gloveman breaks game open in 9th with his bat

Sebastian Elizalde LF Daytona 2/3, BB, 1R, 2RBI - every time its my turn to do this Elizalde hits well. Only at .170 something though. I must be his lucky charm.

Chad Wallach 1B Daytona 2/3, BB, double, RBI making the Latos deal look like a steal. DeSclafani AND Wallach?!

Jeff Gelalich RF Daytona 1/4, RBI

Cam Maron C Daytona 1/4, single - kind of a cheap man's Ryan Hanigan, gets on, no power

Carlton Daal 2B Daytona 1/4, Run

Luis Gonzalez SS Dayton 2/4, double

    Gavin LaValley 3B Dayton 1/3, BB, 1R

Avain Rachal 1B Dayton 1/4, RBI - if he's a first baseman there is little hope for him.

Brian O'Grady DH Dayton 2/4, 2R, SB (4 on season) - rough start for Brian, maybe this game untracks him

Jimmy Pickens LF Dayton 1/4, double, RBI

Narciso Crook CF Dayton 1/4, RBI

    Recap
    Farm teams go 2-3

Louisville emptied the bench in a long tense game using 18 players total/6 pitchers. 1-1 til the Bats scored in the 13th. Christiani then walked the first 2 Indy hitters.
Who wants to win in 13? Not Nick who gives up a tying single to Lombardozzi who takes second on the throw home. 1 out 2nd and 3rd. Nick then walks Wilkin Castillo intentionally to load them up. Finally finishes fiasco with futile fastball that Diaz singles for game winner Indy! BULLPENS! YECH! Christiani and Bats lose 3-2. 13 innings.

Pensacola splits a doubleheader losing 1-0 in 1st game, winning 4-1 in 2nd.
Only 2 Pensacola hits on game 1. Shackelford came on in relief of Dan Wright and lost the game. Not one hitter had a mentionable 1st game. Unmentionables abounded.

In game 2 Klimesh came on in the 7th leading 1-0 gave up the lead & earned a blown save with a couple hits and a wild pitch. Winker, Waldrop & Perez won it in the 9th with a double (Jesse) a sac fly (Waldrop) and 3 Tennessee errors then a bust it open double by Perez. McMyne came in for Klimesh and was effectively wild in his 2 innings of work but got er done.

Daytona won it in the 9th 6-5. Phil Ervin had a tremendous night with 3 doubles and 3 runs scored and an RBI. Garrett started and pitched OK, gave up hits and walked some but his ability to punch a K kept it under control. Muhammad got the win with 1/3rd inning of work. It was a seesaw type game. Trailed in top of 1st. Took 2-1 lead in their half. Fell behind in 2nd, tied it in the 5th. Fell behind in top 7 then tied it up in the home half and finally brought it home in the 9th.

Dayton lost 4-3 when the pen allowed a run in three straight innings 7-8-9, blowing a 3-1 lead going into the 7th. Bernadino, Brattvet and Hunter combined for 3.1 innings, 5hits/2BB allowed and 3 runs. Antone pitched well, handing a 3-1 lead to the bullpen.

More terrific starting pitching. Interesting that Adleman's and Wright's lines, on both ends of Pensacola's doubleheader, were nearly identical. And Iglesias and Antone were pretty darn close. Antone's was promising. He didn't do much of that last year.

Ervin's starting to get some traction. The leadoff spot seems to agree with him.

Watched some Antone last night. Heavy natural sink -- I think he got 12 GB outs vs. 1 flyout. I now see why he went in the 5th round.

Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

    Saturday, April 18

Please welcome to the MiLPOD stage for the first time in 2015....

Alex Blandino, Tortuga . . . 4-5, 3B, 2R, 2 RBI. The Stanford shortstop (or something) notches the system's first 4 hit game of the season. After a somnolent first week, the first rounder is coming around. Carries a nice 5:2 BB/K ratio. Of note: Blandino has played 1 game in the OF.

Also notable on a day when the sticks were crackling at every level except one....

Ivan DeJesus Jr., Bat: 2-5, SB (1). Hitting .352 + .100 for all the accountants out there. When will it add up to a promotion?

Chris Dominguez, Bat: 1-5, grand salami, 5 RBI. He's back and bashing in his college backyard.

    Irving Falu, Bat: 2-5, RBI.

Sam Lecure, Bat: 2.2 hitless, walkless frames with 2 Ks. Is he the cure for what ails the Cincy pen, or is it....

Carlos Contreras, Bat: 2 hitless with 1 walk, 4 Ks. And the victory.

Juan Perez, Blue Wahoo: 1-3, 2 SB (2).

Kyle Waldrop, Blue Wahoo: 1-3, BB, RBI (6).

Sean Buckley, Blue Wahoo: 1-4, 2B, OF assist. The SOSD (son of the scouting director) is off to a very nice start as the surprise cleanup hitter and LF.

    Sebastian Elizalde, Tortuga: 2-5, 2B, 4 RBI (7).

Taylor Sparks, Tortuga: 2-5, HR (2).

Carlton Daal, Tortuga: 2-4. Over at 2B now, and I'm not sure he's made an error yet.

Nick Howard, Tortuga: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 5 BB, 4 K. ERA spotless after two starts.

    Joel Bender, Tortuga: 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K. Unscored on in 8.2 IP over 4 games, only 1 BB and 6 Ks.

    Luis Gonzalez, Dragon: 2-5

    Aristides Aquino, Dragon: 2-4, BB

Gavin LaValley, Dragon: 2-4, BB, 3 RBI. This kid hits the ball hard.

    Jose Ortiz, Dragon: 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI

Seth Varner, Dragon: 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K. The Miami Redskin and Batavia native goes to 2-0 as a rare LHP in the system's starting ranks.

    Jacob Ehret, Dragon: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K.

Jake Paulson, Dragon: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K. Dragons pen pretty strong out of the chute....

    Sunday, April 19

Sammy Diaz, Daytona . . . 2-4, 2B, 2 R, SB (2). The 24-year-old Venezuelan played first base for the second time this year. He has also started at second and third. If he cracks the lineup at catcher, he'll have fielded for the cycle. Actually, catcher and pitcher are the only positions Diaz hasn't played in his seven years as a Reds farmhand. A .280 career hitter, he has all the trappings of a solid organizational guy. When he has a good day, it deserves to be heard.

Also notable on a day in which very little happened, other than Southern rain (Louisville and Pensacola were washed out) . . .

Jackson Stephens, Daytona: 5 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 5 K. The righthander from Alabama (Redszone prospect #46) atoned for a disappointing first start.

Phillip Ervin, Daytona: 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI. The 22-year-old outfielder (RZ #13 -- last year #3) is laying the foundation for a big bounce-back season.

    Taylor Sparks, Daytona: 2-4, 2B, R, RBI.

    Joe Hudson, Daytona: HR (1).

Nick Benedetto, Daytona: 1-3, R, RBI.

    El'Hajj Muhammad, Daytona: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K.

Jeremy Kivel, Dayton: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K. For the power-throwing righty (RZ #32), that's a couple good outings in a row after a couple very bad ones to start the season.

Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

    Monday, April 20

Seth Mejias-Brean, Pensacola: 2-3, 2B, 3B, 2 RBI, 2 BB. It was a good night overall for the Pensacola hitters, who banged out 11 hits and drew 8 free passes (Jesse Winker, who continued his slow start with an 0-5 day, contributed to neither of those totals. He did collect an RBI, however). It would be nice to see Mejias-Brean, the Reds 2013 Minor League Player of the Year, have a bounce back year after struggling a bit with the Blue Wahoos last year.

Only two teams in action again tonight with Louisville off and Daytona washed out. Other notables:

    Ryan Wright, Pensacola: 3-5, 2 2B, 3B

    Marquez Smith, Pensacola: 2-3, 2 2B, 3 R, 2 BB

    Juan Silva, Pensacola: 1-3, 2B, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB

Robert Stephenson, Pensacola: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 9 K. The top prospect tossed 56 of his 89 pitches for strikes, uncorked a couple wild pitches, allowed three stolen bases, and gave up a solo home run.

Aristides Aquino, Dayton: 1-4, HR (1)

    Avain Rachal, Dayton: 2-3, 2 R, BB

Scott Brattvet, Dayton: 2 IP, H, BB, 2 K. Only Dragon to not surrender a run in an 11-3 loss, lowering ERA to 1.80.
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

Re: Minor-League Player of the Day (2015)

    Tuesday, April 21

Nick Travieso, Daytona . . . 6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K. It's already the second MiLPoD selection of the season for the former first-round draft choice, who has a good start on a second straight Minor-League Pitcher of the Year award in the organization. Since this was a 7-inning tilt, he carried the shutout to the Tortuga closer, Zack Weiss, who finished it in style.

Also notable on a day when the rest of the organization hit 2 fewer home runs than the big club (also 2 fewer grand slams) . . .

Ryan Wright, Pensacola: 3-5, 2 3B, R, RBI. The second sacker also tripled in the previous game.

Irving Falu, Louisville: 2-3, 3B, BB, 3 RBI. Another second baseman, another triple. The veteran is up to .371.

Taylor Sparks, Daytona (2 games): 3-5, 2B, BB, SB (2).

Alex Blandino, Daytona (2 games): 2-4, 2 BB, SB (3).

Barrett Astin, Daytona (game 2): 5 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K. The righthander from Arkansas, acquired in the Broxton trade, sports an early 1.50 ERA.

Zack Weiss, Daytona: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K. For the year, the UCLA product (Redszone prospect #44) has thrown 6.1 hitless innings, with 12 K.

    Seth Mejias-Brean, Pensacola: 2-3, HR (1), BB, 2 R.

Jesse Winker, Pensacola: 2-5, HR (1), 2 RBI.

    Sean Buckley, Pensacola: 2-5, 2 2B.

Sharky Rogers, Pensacola: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. Has apparently regained the bite on his breaking ball.

Cam Maron, Daytona (game one): 1-2, HR (1), BB. Also caught the shutout.

Phil Ervin, Daytona (game one): 1-3, R, SB (4).

Donald Lutz, Louisville: 2-4, 2 R, RBI. I like the big fella, and keep waiting for him to break out.

    Yorman, Louisville: 2-4, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI.

    Donovan Hand, Louisville: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K.

    Chris Carpenter, Louisville: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. Something to tell his son about.
