Alright, Bryan, we all know you're a funny guy. And, I must admit, putting DatDude at cleanup was good for some laughs. But enough is enough. Phillips has drawn 2 walks in 66 plate appearances and is still looking for his first extra base of the season as the baseball calendar closes in on May. That OPS, currently at .554, just will not cut it.

Not a good situation in this game at this point.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

With the Reds lack of offense, this game is getting out of hand quickly.

Please don't let this be the beginning of the Cubs dominating the Reds cycle.

The cubs are a much improved team. They've got some swag, and a decent battting line up. Unfortunately..They're no longer the reds punching bag.

Get him 65 or 70 innings in the pen, get him 8 to 10 starts this winter 50 innings or so) and let him prepare as a starter in Spring Training. I don't really see a problem to be honest. If he was 21, I'd see a huge problem. He's older and it's a non-issue IMO.
The problem is that Iglesias is not proficient at being a starting pitcher.

    It's not just about innings.

It's essentially teaching the man a new job.

I just don't believe you can leave that training for winter ball. I fully agree with the Reds' approach on these two.

I do not agree with some of the bullpen choices the Reds made this off-season. That's when all this should have been addressed.

Cubs batters continue to try and kill Reds fans.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Reds play Milwaukee next, which should help.

After that, I'm out of ideas.

No choice really but to play it out till the All-Star Break, good or bad.

I agree that going through a line-up three times is important, but the team needs help now and I'd use the guy there. They can eliminate the innings issue and I don't really think starting in AAA is that much different than Winter Ball. OTOH, experience getting major league hitters out provides something he won't get in AAA. I think starting for 4 months is secondary at this point. This team can't afford to wait for ideal situations.
