Doug said on his site that he hears is that this is a detour and the plan is to put Howard back into the rotation.

Keep an eye on the catchers. Garrett Boulware hit his 3rd HR for Dayton last night (video here) while Joe Hudson and Kyle Skipworth both had 2 hits for Daytona and Pensacola respectively. All 3 have good lines so far, but it is early.

I was ready to concede that he may have hit his ceiling in AA, but all of a sudden Seth Meijas-Brean has been on fire with 9 hits in his last 4 games to go along with his always strong plate discipline. Still only 1 homer and 8 doubles/triples on the year, probably his biggest hurdle in the power stroke, but he's got that OPS above .700 now.

Tyler Mahle in Dayton:
65 IP, 9 BB/62 K, 2.63 ERA.
Credit to M2 for predicting his break out. According to a MILB.com article, Mahle is throwing low 90's with a slider and curveball that have improved drastically to go along with his changeup. He's shooting up the Reds prospects list.
I like Mahle, but he's not the only story. The bigger breakout may be Tejay Antone.
57.2 IP, 9 walks, 47 Ks, only one HBP and no HR. Antone seems to be more of a hard stuff guy while Mahle has more advanced secondary stuff (at least from what I've read, I haven't seen much of either). Based on performance and what I can glean through reading a bit, I have Antone and Mahle 10 and 11 on my updated list (which probably isn't worth a hill of beans, but its fun to learn about these guys).
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

He obviously dug himself into a big hole, but Gavin LaValley is showing signs of heating up. He's hitting .367/.415/.429 over his last 13 games and has an 8 game hit streak.
One weird thing about his line is that even though he's a righty, he's struggling against lefties, hitting just .191/.283/.213 against the so far this year. He didn't have such problem last year in Arizona/Billings.

Howard to bullpen still just a detour?
I remain frustrated at them burning a #1 on him if not a detour.

Should be noted that Yorman Rodriguez is red hot at the moment. We kicked around whether he actually has power in another thread. My take on him has become, I'll believe it when I see it. Well, we're seeing it for the past week. Now if he can just keep it going.
I'm not a system player. I am a system.
No power to speak of, but after a slow start in April (.197/.231/.213), Carlton Daal is hitting .311/.348/.318 for Daytona since May 1st.
