I find that the 47 hats stretch pretty well if you soak the band and crown in water and then pull it down on your head. L are usually too tight and XL too loose, so I buy L and stretch them. Sometimes takes more than once, but I own a lot of size L hats from 47 (red with white front, black with red C, black with green C, brown with tan front, black with plaid front, etc), and most fit really well.Originally Posted by RedEye

Yeah, I have had the same experience with the circumference. My biggest issue is the room in the crown though. I'm not aware of a way to make that part bigger...

Sorry -- I guess I was talking about the crown in addition to the band. That's always too shallow for me too, but doing this and pulling it down to my ears for a while when wet usually helps a bunch!
