    Thom.

Cowboy thinks Espinosa's facial hair was about superstition, I think he was just trolling for photo day.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I'm digging me some Iggy. The future looks bright with all these young pitchers under team control until next decade. Lorenzen needs to miss some more bats to have sustained success though.

Agree on the young pitchers, but man does this team struggle to hit with men on base.

I don't even believe in this, if you hit frequently you'll get the RBIs.

But the Reds just are brutal at getting that big hit. Wow.

Let's isolate the Pena hit. Do you chalk that up to poor luck or something else?

He stung it, but it was straight at the SS playing in the normal spot.

Congrats on your 3 - hit game list night, Cozart. As a reward, we're moving you from leadoff to 7th.

I'll give him bad luck on that, but of course ideally he would elevate it for the fly ball. But I can't knock him for a liner to short.

But look at these numbers. The Reds have 64 hits with men in scoring position. Lowest in the league. Next lowest is the Brewers with 85. League average is 100.

I'm sure the Reds have fewer opportunities, but that's not exactly a feather in their cap.

I attribute this to low BA hitters who just don't get many base hits. But those particular splits are just brutal.

It's still just May though. If the Reds finish well below league average with RISP average/hits for the year, it's something to take note of, but right now it's basically just a small sample size.

Sure. Just commenting on the current numbers which are not just below average but below sea level.

I bet Price is admiring Gonzalez's swing.

Take a drink every time Thom talks about El Duque when Iggy starts.

Regardless of your feelings about this season so far as a whole, you gotta be excited by these 3 rookies in the rotation.

I don't put them on par (yet) with 2009/10 Cueto/Leake/Bailey, but I'll take it.

With Stephenson waiting in the wings no less.

Gotta consider having Billy go RH as a hitter all the time. Looked much better there, against a tough lefty.
