So benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is def sh***y for the patient, but usually very treatable. The Epley maneuver is a simple head-positioning technique that only takes a few minutes to complete. The last numbers I saw had the success rate at over 95%, and risks associated with the maneuver are virtually non-existent as well -- patient may become a bit nauseous, but that's about it.
Like raisor suggested, I'm sure facing live pitching when everything is spinning around you is no fun, and you certainly wouldn't want to trigger a recurrence by rushing him back. It makes sense to take precautions and shut him down at this point in the season.

Any word on how Senzel's treatment is going and when he can return to baseball activities? (I'm assuming a stint in instructs, maybe with an eye towards moving him to 2b, just in case?)
