I've been saying for a while Senzel compares favorably to David Wright.

I agree with that a lot. And David Wright was a stud before injuries took over.

Agree on Wright. Others could be Ryan Zimmerman and perhaps Jeff Kent.

    I'll go with Josh Donaldson.

Fangraphs is a great site, but I'm of the opinion their prospect evaluations are poor. I personally would put much more stock in BA and BPs lists.

The complete omission of Jackson Stephens makes one wonder how much homework these guys really did.

I think some of their prospect projections are great because they help squash some of the "hype" that comes with certain high ranked prospects who have tools but don't seem to perform or have absurd K/BB rates that usually don't translate well, however it also gives way too much weight to some guys who have produced in the lower minors but don't necessarily have the projection to do that against higher level pitching and major league pitching.

Definitely some head scratching in the rankings.

Would love to see a study on which rankings were superior.

That said, remember what Kiley McDaniel (and others) said for at least a couple of years: the specific rankings mean little, but the company kept in those rankings is (at the point they're being scouted) important.

I was just reviewing last years right up on the Reds 2016 prospects and wished they would have used the 3 grades instead of 2. It was current/50%tile/90%tile for their FV grades.

The study would be pointless. At least in terms of who should be viewed as more "right" today.

Fangraphs and Baseball Prospectus go through prospect rankers left and right - there's no consistency whatsoever. Baseball America and John Sickels are the only places that have been long established and generally speaking, had one or two people essentially making the final decision on rankings.

Baseball America has him, but the lack of a Sal Romano in a Reds top 10 brings questions to mind as well. Anybody paying attention to his second half has him above Tony Santillan, Ian Kahaloa or T.J. Friedl. Glaring miss there.

Erstad had speed and played CF well. Don't like the comp for the player as a whole at all.

If we were talking Winker comparisons I think Markakis is about what I would expect. Diving even farther into it, Markakis pre-2013. 800ish OPS with strong OBP's. Like his minor league slash lines in 2013 and 2015. If he becomes that, that's a very nice player to have around.
