    He looks like Ron Gant.

I'll take a Ron Gant in LF.

A resurgent Ervin would be *huge* for this team.

As far as Bats go, Ervin, TySteve, Blandino & Jagielo are the four I'd love to see bounceback seasons from.

After Jagielos start I've given up on him. Guy can't even make contact repeating double A for the 3rd year now. The other 3 are looking pretty good so far. Hope I'm wrong, I know it's early.

Agreed. But has TySteve really ever bounced to begin with? I still have hope that he will be Mesoraco II in terms of minor league development, but he hasn't shown a whole lot yet.

Geez....tough critic. First year was short season, then last year he was injured all year. He's OPS'ing .850 with a couple homers so far this season. 3 doubles, 5 walks, 12 Ks, 46 PAs. This is really his first chance to establish himself.
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

No, I get that. I was just taking issue with the word "bounceback." Technically, he doesn't yet have anything to bounce back from...

    Re: Phil Ervin

He had a nice AB today against Arrieta...worked the count full before hitting into a force out but he was fast enough they couldn't double him up. Seems to have a great eye considering that was his 1st ML at bat. ...and against a former Cy Young winner. Plate discipline would be a nice addition to this young team IMO.

Ervin Winker Senzel Suarez Duval Herrera Peraza Trammel TySteph etc.
Feeling pretty good about the current and future lineup. May need to trade some offense for more young pitching to find another Garrett.

The immediate project in L'ville should, IMHO, be to see if he can handle CF.
