Didn't see a dedicated thread on this, so here we are.
Lucas Leutge released today. Seems like an odd move, given his strong peripherals.
It came on June 1st. That's when many players have "if I'm not in the big leagues/on the 40-man roster, I can choose a release" in their contracts. That wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be the case. He was very, very dominant against lefties this year for the Bats.
Mark Armstong to the DL.
Wyatt Strahan activated.
I think this is per Zach Buchanan: I found it wandering around on Twitter. Such a strange place! Anyhow:Who needs pitchers more than the Reds? The Reds released Luetge from his contract with Triple-A Louisville, Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The southpaw posted a 4.55 ERA with 30 strikeouts and nine walks in 27.2 innings for the Bats. Luetge will look to catch on with another organization that needs a depth arm.

Far thee well, Rob Brantly, Nick Christiani, Leon Landry, et al. Adrian Nieto got bumped up to AAA and Tromp up to AA with Brantly's departure.

It only took Brantly one day to find another job with the White Sox (Charlotte).

They have a million guys like Renda with not enough glove for SS or CF and not enough bat for anywhere else. Decent guy to stash at AAA.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
The purge is complete. Bye Eric Jagelio !

In retrospect, we might have figured that Renda had become highly expendable when he started playing first base in the past week or so. Can't imagine they actually saw him as a prospective first baseman at 5-foot-8 (perhaps generously). Guess that's now Jagielo's spot.
