Ariel Hernandez needs to be in Cincinnati over Austin Brice and Blake Wood.

Eric never adapted that he wasn't a Yankee anymore. It wasn't until the last month when the reality set in that he was a down to earth individual.

If Reds really liked Renda he would be in Cincy by now. Made 5 errors at second and 5 at third this year. Spark plug type hitter, wish him good luck.

I am a bit surprised at the errors, only because he seems to have good footwork and generally fields his position(s) well. He is certainly a decent bat and carries more pop than his size would indicate, kind of a poor man's Dustin Pedroia. But regardless, he's a fringe guy that may play a season or two as a super-sub in the bigs, or may just be a career AAA guy. Hope the return was decent and wish him well. I was surprised that Jagielo moved up based on his AA numbers. I think it's sink or swim for him at this point. Too many guys putting up way better numbers. Gavin Lavalley, for one.

Saw this blurb in the AAA transactions earlier today:

July 4: Louisville Bats released CF Beau Amaral.
"I can still throw it in the 70s. And I can throw it in the 80s if I don't want to comb my hair for a week." - Bob Feller at age 66 when asked how hard he could throw.

And this from the AA Transaction page:

July 4: RHP Rookie Davis assigned to Pensacola Blue Wahoos from Louisville Bats.

The lowest acceptable payroll amount for ownership to show they are not greedy pigs is 15 million more than they are currently paying. No matter what that currently is.

Someone had to make room in that LVille rotation. Davis makes sense to go to Pensacola - he's at least a year away. Amaral is a no bat defense only CFer and there are plenty of those in the system. Beau did create a minor league highlight reel in his time with the Reds farm, though. Maybe he can catch on somewhere and become a poor man's Cesar Geronimo.

99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

At best him and LeMarre could be a platoon of Sammy Mejias and Reggie Taylor.

Cedric Hunter's brief stint with the Bats is over. You won't have the fun name of Hidekel Abreu to kick around anymore either, he's also gone.

Rookie Davis indicated that he doesn't plan on leaving Pensacola anytime soon. He had to find a host family.
