Not sure how much you can glean from 4 games in Cary but here it is.

Joey Blart does not, however. Unless you then add "ly ugly" between tremendous and name.

Worth mentioning because of the Reds connection - Jeff Conine's son is performing very well in the Cape Cod League.

As of 7/27, the Reds should are picking 4th in the 2018 draft.

That's Kumar Rocker, Joe Gray Jr., Seth Beer territory.

I think we wind up 2nd again. Catching the Phils will be hard. At one point I thought no way we'd slide behind the Chisox and Giants but they've already made a liar out of me there. Neck and neck with those two at the moment.

I'm hoping for top 3, as that would guarantee the Reds choose from one of Brady Singer, Brice Turang, and Joe Gray Jr.

I really like Brice Turang as a prospect right now, but Seth Beer has an elite bat/ production.

Re: Looking ahead to the 2018 draft class

I don't know exactly how high he rates nationally, but I really like a kid from here at Wichita State named Alec Bohm. Third baseman who hits a lot of absolute....bombs. So good name for him. He's hitting .358/.400/.507 in the Cape League.

Here's what Baseball Draft Report says about Bohm:

Righthanded power is always in demand, so I expect Bohm, plus raw power being central to his game, to wind up a premium draft prospect come June. If we were to distill what makes a FAVORITE a favorite, I think it might come down to three things for positoin players: 1) one clear plus carrying tool, 2) above-average athleticism for the position, 3) advanced command of the strike zone. Bohm has the power, athleticism, and plate discipline to easily qualify.
